At Cuddly Bear Child Care and Kindergarten, we are committed to providing a high level of service when it comes to our menu and food options. Our aim is to ensure that each child in our care receives nutritious meals that cater to their individual needs and preferences. By implementing these guidelines and strategies, we aim to provide a level of service that not only meets the nutritional needs of the children but also promotes healthy eating habits and fosters positive social interactions. Our commitment to adhering to the National Quality Standard and the NQF ensures that our practices align with industry standards and best practices in early childhood education and care.
Our menu at Cuddly Bear is a seasonal 4 week rotational menu. The menu has been carefully developed, providing a variety of protein sources, complex carbohydrates and fibre, and healthy fats to provide long-lasting energy through the day to make sure your children have the fuel they need to learn and play. Each day of the menu, Chef Joe includes on average, 13 different plant foods. This plant diversity is amazing for supporting optimal nutrition and gut health, as kids are exposed to different plant fibres, prebiotics, vitamins, minerals and plant nutrients (phytonutrients) such as antioxidants and flavonoids. This is also fantastic for supporting immune function.
Cuddly Bear is lucky enough to work with naturopath, Bree Jenner, from the Simple Lunchbox. Bree supports Cuddly Bear in a consultancy capacity, where she works to lift our menu to increase nutritional and medicinal value; to help fuel the growing bodies and minds of our children with the best possible sustenance. Bree also conducts regular workshops with children, educators and families to provide support and further develop knowledge and understanding around food.
